New Stepping Stones Long Term Care Unit at Beloved!
Beloved Health and Rehabilitation Center is proud to introduce a new one-of-a-kind program designed for individuals with disabilities to overcome challenges, develop new skills, and reach their full potential, Stepping Stones Long Term Care Unit.
Using a therapeutic approach to support mental health and spiritual well-being, the program is designed to empower individuals, build independence, and succeed in all aspects of life. Through activities, personalized support, and a unique reward system, we foster growth and celebrate achievements. The program is designed for completion within two years, with a curriculum that cultivates a winning mindset and provides orientation into the community.
Each person is unique, and the program serves as the foundation to support individuals in their own journey towards growth and success. Providing essential resources and guidance, together with the individual we develop a strong framework for reaching their full potential. While this looks distinct for different individuals, all participants will work towards personal goals of improving overall health and wellbeing, gaining new knowledge and skills, fostering meaningful relationships, and building confidence.
Some examples of unique goals and skills:
Independence skills like cooking, cleaning, laundry, hygiene
GED completion, vocational rehab, Learning Opportunities, Job Coaches, etc
Personal growth through volunteer programs – Humane Society, Meals on Wheels, Food Banks
Budgeting exercises
Shopping – Beloved is less than one mile walking distance from nearby stores and restaurants, including Walmart, Dollar Tree, 5 Below, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Steak house, Chinese restaurants, Hibachi restaurants, Mexican restaurants, Arby’s, Coffee shops, Subway, Long John Silvers, Sonic and much more!
Weekly shopping trip to Walmart by the company transportation services
Participating in community activities – parades, festivals, free outdoor music performances, etc.
Development of personal goals unique to the individual
Through this exclusive program which creates a safe and inclusive space for individuals with different abilities, we aim to enhance overall well-being through various therapeutic activities and personalized support, with constant focus on mental health and spiritual well-being. This unit will be overseen by a Social Worker and a Registered Nurse.
Some of these support options include:
Group and Individualized therapy
Individualized care
Coping Skills
Music Therapy
Yoga
Nature Walks and Scavenger Hunts
Workbook assignments
The reward system created for this special program allows individuals to level up and celebrate their achievements, fostering a sense of accomplishment and motivation for their ongoing journey toward personal development. The color-coded levels – a stop light system – allow for incentives on each level and concrete visuals for an individual’s growth.
While the program is designed for tentative completion in two years, it can be extended based on individual needs.
We are confident that this program will allow residents to develop tools and skills to not only navigate and thrive more independently, but also cultivate a winning mindset and become a source of encouragement for themselves and others.
